The cartography of nature’s submerged labyrinths

I hear the splash of the surface and everything goes silent. Inhale . . . Exhale . . . Breathing, the source of my survival underwater, is now all I hear until... the crackling. Is it cavitation of a propeller? Can’t be, it’s just us out here... It is in fact the reef.

The sounds of a vibrant ecosystem, just as complex as the busiest metropolitan zone, except here everything is in balance.

As I listen to the crackling of the reef, I capture its most memorable, complex textures.

I call it beauty, nature calls it necessity.
